Terms

The terms.

How this website may be used, and the agreement every MAAL TRADING ACADEMY student accepts before paying.

MAAL TRADING ACADEMY is an education provider, not a broker-dealer or investment adviser. Nothing on this site is investment advice, a recommendation, or a guarantee of results. Trading and investing involve risk, including the loss of money. Classroom execution uses a simulator; no real capital is traded in class. Read the full risk disclosures.

Booking a class

  • You must be 18 or older to book. Tuition is paid in full when you book, and your seat is confirmed only after the payment is confirmed.
  • Refunds: $50 of the tuition is a seat deposit and is never refunded. Cancel at least 14 days before your class’s first day and you get the rest back. Less than 14 days before, or a missed class: no refund; you are moved to a live online class you may join within 60 days, or an in-person seat if one is open (not guaranteed). No refund once class has started or once you open your My MAAL lessons. If MAAL TRADING ACADEMY cancels or moves your class: another date or a full refund.
  • The rules: no recording of any class or lesson, no sharing your account or class links, no copying or selling the material. If MAAL TRADING ACADEMY finds or reasonably suspects a breach, it may remove you, shut off your My MAAL account and class links, and give no refund.
  • To cancel, move a class or make a complaint, write to admissions@maaltradingacademy.com. MAAL TRADING ACADEMY replies within 5 business days.

Visiting the academy (Free Friday and every visitor)

Version MAAL-VT-2026-10-20. Free Friday visitors accept these when they book; walk-ins sign them at the front desk.

  • You visit at your own risk. Follow staff instructions, building rules and emergency exits, and tell staff about any hazard or injury. MAAL TRADING ACADEMY does not provide medical care.
  • To the fullest extent Minnesota law allows, you release MAAL TRADING ACADEMY, its owners, instructors and staff from any claim for injury, illness, loss or damage during your visit, in the building, in the parking area or on your way there or back, except a claim caused by gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing.
  • Your belongings and your vehicle are your own responsibility. MAAL TRADING ACADEMY is not responsible for their loss, theft or damage. Items left behind are kept for 14 days.
  • You pay for anything you or anyone you bring damages, breaks or takes. No guests, children or pets without permission.
  • No recording of any lesson or screen. Nothing you see or hear at MAAL TRADING ACADEMY is investment advice, and simulated trades are not real results. You must be 18 or older.
  • MAAL TRADING ACADEMY photographs and records its classes and events. By accepting these terms, you allow MAAL to photograph and record you during your visit and to use those photos and videos, with your first name, for teaching and promotion, including on its website and social media, with no payment to you.
  • MAAL TRADING ACADEMY may refuse entry or ask anyone to leave who breaks these rules.

MAAL Student Enrollment Agreement

Version MAAL-SEA-2026-10-20. This is the text every student accepts before paying.

1. Your enrollment

This agreement is between you and MAAL TRADING ACADEMY, 1433 E Franklin Ave, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55404 (“MAAL”). It covers your seat in the class you selected: its dates, times, and whether you attend in person or live online. Your seat is confirmed only after your payment is confirmed. You must be 18 or older to enroll, and the details you give must be true and your own. MAAL may decline an enrollment; if it does after you have paid, you get a full refund.

2. Education only — not investment advice

MAAL is an educational organization. Everything MAAL provides — classes, lessons, My MAAL, Trading Labs, charts, examples, stocks or funds named, trade setups, emails and social posts — is for educational purposes only. None of it is investment advice, a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, or advice suited to your personal situation. MAAL is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser or financial planner, and is not registered with the SEC, FINRA or any state securities regulator. MAAL does not manage money, open accounts for you, or trade for you.

3. Trading and investing involve risk

Trading and investing carry a real risk of losing money, including the possible loss of all the money you put in. Some products and strategies — margin, short selling, options and leveraged products — can lose more than you invest. Trading is not suitable for everyone. Only trade or invest money you can afford to lose. Past performance, and any example shown in class, does not predict or guarantee future results.

4. Simulated results

Class trades are placed in a simulator (paper trading), not with real money. Simulated and hypothetical results have limits: they are not real trades, they may not reflect real prices, fills, slippage, fees or liquidity, and they do not carry the emotional pressure of risking real money. A simulated result is not an account result, and no one represents that any account will make profits or losses similar to anything shown in class.

5. No guarantee of results

MAAL is here to teach the fundamentals of how markets work. It is not here to make you money. Completing a MAAL class does not guarantee that you will make money, trade successfully, or reach any financial goal. Any results of the instructor, MAAL staff or other students are not typical and are not a promise of your results. Testimonials describe one person’s experience.

6. Your decisions are your own

You alone are responsible for your own financial decisions, trades, investments, accounts and risk. Any brokerage account you open is with a broker you choose, under that broker’s terms. MAAL will never ask for your brokerage password and never places trades in your account. Before investing real money, consider speaking with a licensed financial professional.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, MAAL, its owners, instructors and staff are not responsible for any trading or investment loss, lost profit, or other loss that comes from your use of anything you learned or saw at MAAL. If MAAL is ever found responsible for anything else connected with your enrollment, the most MAAL will owe is the tuition you paid for that class. These limits also cover your visits to the academy and your online classes. Nothing in this agreement limits a right that the law does not allow to be limited.

8. Payment

Tuition is paid in full when you book, at the price shown at checkout. Card payments are processed by MAAL’s payment partner (Whop), which may appear on your statement as the merchant of record. MAAL never sees your card number. If a price on the site is ever wrong, MAAL will tell you, and you may pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

9. Refunds, changes and cancellations

$50 of your tuition is a seat deposit and is never refunded. If you cancel at least 14 days before your class’s first day, you get the rest of your tuition back ($200 on $250 tuition). If you cancel less than 14 days before, or do not attend, there is no refund. Instead, MAAL moves you to a live online class, which you may join within 60 days. If an in-person seat is open in that time, you may take it instead, but an in-person seat is not guaranteed. There is no refund once your class has started or once you have opened your lessons in My MAAL. If MAAL cancels or moves your class (for example for low enrollment or an emergency), you choose another date or a full refund, deposit included. To cancel or move, email admissions@maaltradingacademy.com. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5–10 business days; MAAL cannot refund fees your bank charges. Please contact MAAL before disputing a charge with your bank.

10. Course access and Trading Labs

Your My MAAL course access lasts 45 days, counted from your class’s first day (or the day access is granted, if later). When it ends, your account, Student ID and records stay. The Friday Trading Labs included with your class are an educational benefit and follow the same rules as this agreement.

11. Changes to the class

MAAL delivers each class substantially as described when you book. MAAL may make reasonable changes to lesson content, materials, tools, the instructor, the room or the timetable when needed, and tells you before your class if a change affects you.

12. Live online students

If you attend online, you are responsible for a computer, a reliable internet connection and a quiet place to join. The online class link opens one hour before class. Contact MAAL before class if you are unsure your setup will work.

13. MAAL’s materials

Course materials, lessons, slides, videos and recordings belong to MAAL TRADING ACADEMY and are for your own personal learning only. You may not copy, download, share, sell, publish, upload (including to AI tools or other websites), teach from, or redistribute them, or use them in any business. You may not use robots, scrapers or download tools on My MAAL.

14. No recording

You may not record any class or lesson — video, audio, screen recording, or photos of the screen or slides — in the classroom, online or at home, unless MAAL allows it in writing. MAAL photographs and records its own classes, Trading Labs and events. By accepting this agreement, you allow MAAL to photograph and record you while you are there or in an online class, and to use those photos, videos and recordings, with your first name, for teaching and promotion, including on MAAL’s website and social media, with no payment to you.

15. Your account and class links

Your My MAAL account, Student ID and class links are for you alone. Keep your login private, do not let anyone else use your account or watch your online class, and tell MAAL at once if you think someone else has your login. You are responsible for what is done through your account. MAAL’s systems record when and how accounts and class links are used.

16. Conduct and academy computers

In the classroom and online, respect the instructor, other students and the academy’s equipment: no harassment, threats, hate or abuse, and no selling or promoting anything to other students. During in-person classes, instructors and staff may view the screens of academy-owned computers to teach and help. Do not install software on, tamper with or damage academy computers, and do not sign in to your personal bank or brokerage accounts on them; you pay for damage you cause.

17. Breaking these rules

If MAAL finds, or reasonably suspects, that you have recorded a class, shared your account or class links, copied or shared MAAL’s materials, or broken the conduct rules, MAAL may remove you from your class at once and shut off your My MAAL account, class links and Trading Labs. In that case there is no refund of any kind. MAAL’s decision is final. MAAL may also take legal action over copied or recorded material and report any crime to the police.

18. Your safety at the academy

You attend the academy at your own risk. Follow staff instructions, building rules and emergency exits, and tell staff at once about any hazard or injury. MAAL does not provide medical care; you are responsible for your own health and for telling staff anything they need to know to keep you safe. To the fullest extent Minnesota law allows, you release MAAL, its owners, instructors and staff from any claim for injury, illness, loss or damage that happens while you are at the academy, in the building, in the parking area or on your way there or back, except a claim caused by MAAL’s gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing.

19. Your belongings

Your personal belongings — phones, laptops, bags, money, vehicles and anything left in them — are your responsibility at all times. MAAL is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of your belongings at the academy, in the building, in the parking area or anywhere else. Items left behind are kept for 14 days and then given away or thrown out.

20. Damage you cause

You pay for repairing or replacing anything that you, or anyone you bring, damages, breaks or takes: academy computers, screens, keyboards, furniture, the room or the building. MAAL will send you the cost.

21. Guests

Do not bring guests, children or pets to class without MAAL’s permission. You are responsible for anyone you bring, and they follow the same rules.

22. Online classes at home

When you join online, you use your own devices, internet and space at your own risk. MAAL is not responsible for damage to your devices, viruses, data loss, internet or phone charges, or anything others see or hear through your camera or microphone — keep them off unless you want to be seen or heard. MAAL will never ask for your passwords, bank details or a payment outside MAAL’s own checkout; anyone who does is not MAAL.

23. You are responsible for your actions

If anything you do — breaking this agreement, your conduct, damage you or your guests cause, or your own trading and investing — leads to a claim, cost or loss for MAAL, its owners, instructors or staff, you agree to cover it, including reasonable lawyer fees.

24. Events outside MAAL’s control

MAAL is not responsible for a delay or cancellation caused by something it cannot control, such as severe weather, power or internet outages, building problems, illness, an emergency or a government order. In that case MAAL moves your class to another date or online, or, if it cannot, gives you a full refund.

25. Other services

Some tools used in class — the broker’s practice platform (such as thinkorswim), Moodle, Google Meet and the payment partner — belong to other companies and follow their own terms. MAAL is not responsible for their outages or for how they handle your data.

26. Complaints and Minnesota law

If you have a complaint, email admissions@maaltradingacademy.com; MAAL replies within 5 business days and will try to resolve it. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, and any dispute that cannot be resolved will be handled in the courts of Hennepin County, Minnesota.
